FM GLOBAL LOGISTICS STRENGTHEN ITS SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIP WITH TRUSTED PARTNER SCANIA WITH 20 UNITS OF SUPER TO ACHIEVE ESG GOALS

Kuala Lumpur, 20 February – Scania and FM Global Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd (FM) celebrates the delivery of six of the 20 units of Scania Super Euro 5 ordered. This sustainable partnership aims to reduce both global and local emissions in order to meet FM’s ESG goals.

“Scania continues to be a trusted partner in supporting us towards achieving our ESG goals. The Scania Super will provide a fuel savings of 8% per vehicle, setting a new industry benchmark for both global and local emissions control,” stated Mr Chew Chong Keat, Group Managing Director of FM Global Logistics (M) Sdn. Bhd.

The new Scania Super is Scania’s most advanced and efficient combustion-engine powertrain, one which is engineered to meet the toughest emissions standards worldwide, both today and tomorrow. This can only be achieved with the new powertrain’s groundbreaking efficiency which is the sum of its different components; the Scania Super 13-litre engine, Scania Opticruise gearbox, and the Scania R885 single reduction rear axle. Through seamless integration, the world’s most efficient truck just got even better.

Scania believes that Digital Services are essential for customers to maximise profitability. With the recent purchase of Scania Super, FM will have access to a suite of Scania Digital Services. Fleet Management System Control Package provides valuable insights and information about their fleet. They can be accessed via My Scania portal and Fleet app including essential features such as real-time positioning, vehicle performance monitoring, environmental reporting to track CO2 emissions, service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation. These tools enable identification of opportunities for vehicle usage improvements during Driver Training and Coaching. With this partnership, FM will seamlessly achieve both sustainability and profitability, all at their fingertips.

“Scania Ecolution is now included as a standard feature with the purchase of Scania Super. It is a tailor-made partnership with the sole purpose of maximising fleet’s fuel efficiency, reducing CO2, Nitrogen Oxide and Particulate Matter emissions, all to meet customers’ ESG requirements. Coupled with Scania Digital Services, we continue to build more advanced and sustainable partnerships,” stated Joyce Antar, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia.

“Shifting to electric is one of the many total solutions to achieve Science-based Targets. We can offer battery electric vehicles (BEV) designed for a wide range of applications, from urban to long-distance trucks capable of handling gross train weight (GTW) of up to 64 tonnes – together with all the services needed to support our customers. We encourage our customers to join us in leading the shift towards a more sustainable transport system,” added Joyce.

FM commenced their sustainable partnership with Scania in 2009 and, to date, possess a total of 59 Scania vehicles.
