Scania Touring wins Sustainable Bus Award
Scania has an enduring focus on making people mobility – public transport – more sustainable. Our efforts gained industry recognition in October last year, when we received the Sustainable Bus Award 2025 in the coach category for the biogas/natural gas variant of our Scania Touring coach.
Presented in Madrid during the FIAA International Bus and Coach Fair, the Sustainable Bus Award is the only European prize for sustainability in the bus and coach industry. Judges consider factors such as safety, comfort, noise, recyclability of components, and the manufacturer’s responsibility for the environment.
Even amid continuous impressive updates down the years, this particular Scania Touring stands out, with its fuel efficiency, strong torque, lower noise levels and ability to run on either natural gas and biogas, or even a blend of both.
When powered by biogas, the 13-litre engine provides a circular and economically viable solution for more sustainable long-distance transport, with up to 90 percent fewer CO2 emissions than diesel.
